James Alfred English Jr.
92, a resident of Plano, Texas, passed away June 20, 2008 at the Life Care Center of Plano in Plano, Texas. He was born May 30, 1916 at Dutch Mills, Arkansas, the son of James Alfred and Mary Dove Beaty English.
His family moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, when he was young and he attended Fayetteville Schools and the University of Arkansas, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was the President of his Sophomore and Junior Classes and a true Razorback Fan. Jim began his career with McElroy Bank in Fayetteville, Arkansas and then moved to Dallas, Texas to work with American Airlines. Soon after he joined Biehl and Company, a Dutch shipping company. He was a member of the Dallas Athletic Club where he enjoyed playing golf with his many friends. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Travis Leland English.
Survivors include three nieces, Mary English Shinn and her husband, Rev. Ben Shinn, Trudy English Baxter and her husband, Tom and Ellen English Turner and her husband, Nat; seven great nieces and nephews, Jim Baxter, Trav Baxter, Layne Baxter, Ruth Anne Shinn Bloor and her husband, Daniel, Laura Shinn Hamilton and her husband, Clint, Nathaniel Turner and Beth Turner; one sister in law, Ruth Atkins English.
Funeral Service will be held Monday June 23, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dutch Mills Cemetery Pavilion in Dutch Mills, Arkansas with the Rev. Ben Shinn officiating with burial in Dutch Mills Cemetery in Dutch Mills, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, 10066 Marsh Lane, Dallas, Texas 75229, where his nephew in law, Rev. Ben Shinn is Senior Pastor.
