Jack Wynne
85, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord, Friday afternoon, April 2, 2004 in Prairie Grove. He was born April 4, 1918 at Cumberland Mountain, Tennessee, the son of John Matthew and Mayme Rebecca Higgins Wynne.
Jack was baptized in the Baptist Church in Lincoln, Arkansas and has been a member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church for many years.
As a young man, he earned the Eagle Scout Award and was nominated to attend the National Jamboree in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Jack married Oneta Whitmire on July 7, 1939. At an early age, he was a courier for the Mock Clinic in Prairie Grove. Jack was a Veteran of WW II serving in the South Pacific Theater. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion and a former member of the Dairy Association. Jack was a farmer and dairyman in the Prairie Grove area for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Agnes Barton, two brothers, Joyce and Bryce Wynne, and one nephew, Paul Milligan.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Oneta Loyce Wynne of the home; one sister, Doris Wynne Milligan of Arlington, Texas, nieces Cindy Featherston of Arlington, Texas, Nancy & husband, Brian Ryals of Mansfield, Texas, and Peggy & and husband, John White of Durango, Colorado; one nephew, Ron Wynne of Memphis, Tennessee; three great nieces, Michelle and Lauren Featherston and Elizabeth Ryals; one great-nephew, Jonathan Ryals; Special peoples who have been longtime friends are Pete and Bonita Petty and family and Ed and Phyllis Powers and family.
