Lillie Opal Yell
98, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away December 11, 2008 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born May 31, 1910 at Pettigrew, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas Bedford and Hattie Louella Scott Day.
Lillie was a charter member of the New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church, where she played the piano for over forty-years. She was teacher in several country schools in the area for many years.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Day, Harvey Day, and Clyde Day; two sisters, Verla Morelock and Jewell Davidson; three half brothers, Tom Day, Ed Day, and Millard Day; two half sister, Dora Day, and Poly Day.
Survivors include her husband of seventy years, James "Buster" Yell Sr. of the home; one son, James W. Yell Jr. of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one brother, Wille Day of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one sister, Erline Benton of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 15, 2008 - 10:00 A.M. at the New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church near Prairie Grove, Arkansas with Glen Faulkner officiating. Interment will be in the Sharp Cemetery near Prairie Grove.
