Ruth Davis, 81 year old resident of Summers, Arkansas, passed away on July 14, 2018, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, after a long battle with cancer. We will miss her.
She was the daughter of Virgil and Clarice Fusselman. Ruth graduated from high school in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She married Harrison Davis on July 29, 1960 in Springdale, Arkansas. Ruth worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, a farmer, and worked at Walton's 5 & 10 in Fayetteville in the 1950's. She was an active member of Summers Missionary Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was active teaching Sunday School and working at Bible School and Church Camp. Ruth loved gardening, sewing and feeding birds. She was active at the Rogers Sewing Center and many other organizations through the years. Ruth had been a member of Northwest Arkansas District Extension Homemakers, serving as a judge for clothing at several county fairs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarice and Virgil.
She is survived by her husband, Harrison; one son, Tim Davis of Summers, Arkansas; sister, Velma Surles of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Pastor Paul Young officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Cincinnati, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Wasson Funeral Home.
