Clifford Guy Sparks
86, a resident of Prairie Grove, is rejoicing in heaven and back with his wife of 66 years. Guy passed away March 25, 2013 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born April 27, 1926 in Dutch Mills, Arkansas, the son of Joel Milas and Martha Jane Carlton Sparks.
Guy was an army veteran of World War II. He was in the grocery business for 25 years on main street of Prairie Grove and then went to work as receiving manager at Montgomery Ward for several years before retiring from the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Prairie Grove.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sparks; two brothers, Homer Sparks and Leo Sparks and one sister, Myrtle Bullington.
He is survived by two daughters, Gyla Thompson and husband Glenn of Lead Hill, Arkansas and Melissa Jameson and husband David of Prairie Grove, Arkansa; five grandchildren, Terry Jameson, Karen Ossenkop and husband Patrick, Mary Jameson, Laura Doyle and husband Freddie and Jeremy Thompson and wife Julianne; two great grandchildren Alexander and Anthony Doyle.
The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Prairie Grove from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 30, 2013 with funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Dutch Mill Cemetery, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Thompson, Terry Jameson, Freddie Doyle, Patrick Ossencop, David Bullington, and Logan Beard.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jim Rieff, Charles Stills, Ronnie Stone, Bill Morrison, David Robbins, and Doug Lanningham
