Anna Venable retired after teaching in 1969 after 31 years. Her Early education began at White Rock where she attended the 1st through 6th grades. Money was short along with the school terms. Anna started living with her Aunt Susie Robinson of Cincinnati and attended school there through the ninth grade. Her tenth year was spent with her Uncle Wilson Kimbrough in Springdale, Arkansas. Here Junior and senior years were spent at Lincoln School. The four senior in 1925 were Marion Joyce, Waldo Bain, Wesley Shannon and Anna. When she was 18 years old, she returned to White Rock (near the Luginbuel family home) to teach -- 1925 - 1926. During the summer, she had taken a teachers exam at the court house and received a teacher's certificate. The day she took the exa, she went ot Lincoln in a Model T Ford and rode the train to Fayetteville and returned home the same day. Some of her pupils at White Rock were Oren and Marie Glenn, and Mary Rice. She had gone to school with them four years earlier. She attended summer schools for several years. Later she when to John Brown School at Siloam Springs, Arkansas which was a two-year college where she received a Music and Education Certificate in 1931. She continued to attend summer schools at the University of Arkansas.
