Albert Leon Reed Sr.
88 a resident of Siloam Springs, went to be with his Lord, October 9, 2015 in Siloam Springs. He was born October 15, 1926 at Gideon, Oklahoma, the son of Clyde Raymond and Ruth Elizabeth Bacon Reed.
Albert was a award winning member of the N.W. Arkansas Fiddlers Association, gold member of the Siloam Springs riding club, and Mason. He was a WWII navy veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-seven years, Lucille Hawley Reed; his parents; nine brothers, Frank, Bob, Clyde R., George, Clarence, Charley, Donnie, Jack, and Grover; three sisters, Mabel Pettit, Goldie Reed, and Barbara Atha; one grandson, Cody Reed.
Survivors include his wife Marguerite Reed; one son, Lee Reed and wife Karen of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Jeanie Felts-Taylor and husband, Odell of Springdale, Anne Chambliss of Grove, Oklahoma; two step sons, Ronnie McGhee and wife Paula of Decatur, and Rusty McGhee and wife Fran of Tulsa; one step daughter, Kay Steele and husband Darryl of Conway;
two brothers, Shug Reed of Dutch Mills and Harve Reed and wife Bev of Branden, Mississippi; one sister Minnie Fielding of Rogers; eleven grandchildren: Brad Felts, Andy Felts, Melody Reed, Bret Chambliss, Scott Chaney, Adam McGhee, Matt McGhee, Jeffery Steele, Jamie Moody, Tyler McGhee, and Gillie McGhee; eleven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 - 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, with Steve Abbott and Gordon Topping officiating. Burial will be in Beaty Cemetery, Lincoln, Arkansas. No graveside service will be held at the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs.
Pallbearers will be Brad Felts, Andy Felts, Bret Chambliss, Tyler McGee, Matt McGee, Adam McGee, Jeffery Steele, Madison Felts, Scott Chaney and J.T. Sanders.
Honorary pallbeares will be Mack Shook, Gordon Shook, Bruce DeYoung, Marty Lee, Charley Lacy, Randall Spears, Bobby Jack Spears, Bud Cox and his Upper Room Sunday School Class.
