Crockett Austin Freedle
69 died at his home Thursday morning from a self inflicted gun shot wound. Mr. Freedle, who had been in ill health for sometime, and been to Tulsa recently and gone through a clinic and when he was told he had a heart ailment he became very despondent.
He went to the home of his son Bob, who lives near him to get his gun that had been there for a few days. After staying away from the house for sometime, Mrs. Freedle became alarmed and went to hunt him, but some fo the neighbors found him. He had used a forked stick to pull the trigger on the fun which pierced his heart.
Mr. Freedle was born in Greenville, Mo., January 30, 1881, the son of Robert C. and Emily Freedle. He was married to Sadie Kirk in 1910. He had been a resident of this community for the past 45 years and was a member of the Union Hill Baptist church.
Survivors include the widow; four daughters, Mrs. Odene Kirk, Wesstville; Mrs. Edgar Hickman, Ia Habra, Calif.; Mrs. Carroll Crowe, san Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Charles Price, New Orleans, La.; five sons, Robert Freedle, Westville; Harley, La Habra, Calif.; Johnny, Santa Paula, Calif., and Logan and lee, both of Portland, Oreg.; one sister, Mrs. Artie Harris, Hobart and 10 grandchildren.
