Frederick Luthy

History of Richardson County, Spicer Township, NE

Frederick Luthy -- born 1851, at Canton Bern, Switzerland. With his parents at age 5, immigrated to the United States and came to Fulton County, Ohio. In 1865 came to Richardson County, Nebraska and located south of Humboldt. He became a United States Citizen in1873. In 1877 Frederick was married to Henrietta Luginbill, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Welty) Luginbill of Humboldt.

The Luthys farmed in Speiser Precict of Richardson County, were named on of the Honor Families of the Soil and Water Conservation District in 1972 and received the Nebraska Pioneer Farm Award -- 100 years in 1956. The land continues to remain in the Luthy family -- Reece is the Great Grandson of the Late Frederick and Henrietta Luthy.
