Billy Gene Hickman, age 63, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died February 12, 2017, in Fayetteville.
He was born December 05, 1953, in Fayetteville, the son of Henry Wright and Carrie C. (Hardin) Hickman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bobby Joe Hickman.
Billy served in the Army and Army National Guard from 1972 to 1984 and was Sergeant E5 when he was discharged. He served in the 142nd Field Artillery as a meteorologist. He was involved in the Cuban Relocation project at Fort Chaffee while serving in the 142nd.
Billy met Candy Renee Hammer in 1974 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma at the skating rink, and two weeks later they were married. They were married 42 years and raised three children.
Billy is survived by his wife, Candy of Fayetteville; two sons, Billy Hickman (and his wife, Karla) of Owasso, Oklahoma and Scott Hickman (and his wife, Michelle) of Fayetteville, Arkansas; a daughter, Salena Smith of Liberty, New York; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Duane Hickman (and his wife, Lexie) of Jacksonville, Arkansas and Rick Hickman (and his wife, Angela) of Winslow, Arkansas; and many other family friends, and loved ones.
A Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Rose Cemetery near Prairie Grove under the direction of Moore's Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Benji Barnes, James Williams, Chris Feurer, Jeremy Smart, Scott Hickman and Tristan Hickman.
Honory Pallbears are Andrew Hilburn, Hunter Hickman, Steven Hickman, Brayden Hickman, Kaylen Hickman, Coby Hickman, Michael Smith,and Travis Hickman.
