Larry Alvin Sparks, 72, of Huntsville, died Wednesday, July 15, 2020, in Fayetteville.
He was born Monday, Oct. 27, 1947, in Huntsville, to Olney Alvin and Mamie Marie Casteel Sparks.
Larry married Linda Sue Cornett on Friday, July 30, 1971, in Huntsville, and together they were parents to one daughter.
He was a master electrician and the owner of Sparks Electric. He was a retired captain of the Huntsville Fire Department. For over thirty years Larry was a member of the Lower Wharton Creek Church. Larry was an avid farmer, hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He was a man of many talents who enjoyed rebuilding vehicles.
He dearly loved his family and would help anyone in need.
Larry was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Bill Sparks.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; one daughter, Lori Lynn of Huntsville; one granddaughter, Lindsay Erin of Huntsville; one special nephew and best buddy, Luke Heath Umland; and five sisters, Barbara and Carroll Ober of Deer, Dorothy Parks of Louisiana, Sharon Jackson of Fayetteville, Janice and Elmer Moore of Huntsville, and Peggy and Delbert Ramer of Springdale. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Services were on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home, with Jim Hepler and Coy Siegrist officiating.
Pallbearers were Bradyn Polley, Dwain Ober, Tommy Price, Buddy Umland, James Moore, Richard Robinson, Joe Harrah, and Ike Mills. Honorary pallbearers were David Ingle, JD Hawthorn, Gareth Smith, Brian Robinson, and the retired members of the Huntsville Fire Department.
Interment immediately followed services at Venus Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
