William Farley Stroud, 73, one of the most successful War Eagle farmers died at his home near McConnell Chapel Aug 22, after several months illness. Services were conducted at the home before going to the Alabam Church. Officiating was Rev. Jake Drake, Chas. L. McElhaney & Jerry J. Simpson. Pallbearers were Herman Culwell, Mack Reeves, Ewell Seals, Burse Reeves, Dewey Harris & Mack Officer. Mr. Stroud was a native of Madison County & resided in same all his life. He engaged extensively in farming and stock raising and was widely regarded for his industrious management of his farming affairs. He was married Dec 25, 1898, to Sarah E. SPARKS and is survived by her and 3 children, Earl Stroud & Bulah Easterling of Huntsville & Easie Stanfill of Nowata, OK, also by 1 bro, J. B. Stroud of Aurora, & 2 sisters, Bessie Floyd of Marble & Easter Sparks of Webb City, MO. MCR, 24 Aug 1939 [s/o William M. "Buck" & Cintha Caroline FORRESTER Stroud]
