Genevieve Dean Carnes, 98, of Farmington, Arkansas, died March 22, 2018, at her home.

She was born February 21, 1920, at Ferriday, Louisiana, the daughter of Dr. William Luther Stewart and Mary Elizabeth Walker Stewart.

She grew up in Pollock, Louisiana, graduating from High School there. She graduated from Alexandria, Louisiana Business College, attended a Junior College in Texas, and the University of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Morton Carnes, on June 30, 2005.

She had worked at the Fayetteville Employment Security Division and at Moore's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville as a secretary and accountant. She and her husband lived in Fayetteville from 1946 until May 1986, before moving to Farmington.

She was a member of Fayetteville Wiggins United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Morton Carnes of Rogers, and David Walker Carnes and his wife Nora of Springdale.

Graveside service will be Monday, March 26, at 10:00 AM at Farmington Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Funeral Chapel.
