GARRINGER, Chester Worthington, son of Floyd Irving and Ruby Mae (Hite) Garringer, was born on February 17, 1942 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas and departed this life on August 2, 1996 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 15 days. He was a self-employed contractor and a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas. Chester loved to golf, fish, and garden. He loved to quote percentages and he loved his work. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Bud Smith. Chester is survived by: his wife, Melissa of the home in Lincoln, Arkansas; one daughter: Tammy Hammock of Gelncoe, Oklahoma; five sons: Chester Glenn Garringer of Morrison, Oklahoma, Tim Garringer of Austin, Texas, Jon Carringer of Lincoln, Arkansas, Kyle Gooch of Lincoln, Arkansas, Brent Garringer of Lincoln, Arkansas; four brothers: Bob Garringer of Mephis, Missouri, Charles Smith or Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Floyd Garringer of Prairei Grove, Arkansas, Dan Garringer of Drumright, Oklahoma; one sister: Ruby Mae Kelley of Farmington, Arkansas; 7 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held on Monday, August 5th at 10:00 AM at he Center Point Church of God in Prairie Grove, Arkansas with Bro. Cecil Sugg, officiating. Interment will follow at Garrett Creek Cemetery under the direciton of Roberts Funeral Home of Westville.
