Frances N. Sanders Gage, age 90, of Elkins, went to be with the Lord at her home on Friday, April 17, 2015. She was born December 14, 1924 at Henryetta, Oklahoma, the daughter of Emanuel A. and Edna Viola Day Sanders.
She was a faithful member of Richland Regular Primitive Baptist Church at Mt. Olive, near Elkins. She was retired after 37 years of growing chickens for Tyson Foods. Some of the happiest moments of her life were spent cooking meals and making strawberry freezer jam for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph Gage; brothers, Claude, Albert (Bill), Joe, Kenneth (Red), Elvin (Pete), Leonard, Ralph and Henry (Bob) and two sons, Gregory Gage and Jerry Avrett.
She is survived by son, Norman Gage and wife Patricia; daughters, Marilyn Tate and husband David and Joetta Gardner and husband Greg all of Elkins; grandchildren Amanda and Josh Gage, Rusty and Justin Tate and Tyler Gardner of Elkins and Shaneace Gard and husband Dylan of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three brothers, Melvin (Skinny) Sanders of Elkins, Dee Sanders and wife Helen of LaQuinta, California, Chester Sanders and wife Tammy of Wesley, Arkansas; sister Mary Jane Gage of Elkins, Arkansas and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2015 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Richland Regular Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Norman Gage, Josh Gage, David Tate, Rusty Tate, Justin Tate and Tyler Gardner. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Sanders, Kenneth Dean Sanders, Jerry Sanders, Jimmy Sanders, Rob Sanders, Daryl Sanders, Tommy Gage, Marlin Sanders, Larry Sanders, Lonnie Sanders, Loy Sanders, George Kulka, Johnny Littrell and Russell Boyd.
