Patricia Ann Pettit Estes, age 68, of Fayetteville, died on Friday, December 12, 2014. Patti will be remembered as a gracious, generous, and witty woman, spirited and cheerful. She was devoted to her family, church, friends, and community.

Patti was born in Springfield, Missouri, on September 24, 1946, to the late JoAnn Prater and William Eugene Pettit. She was educated in the Springfield public school system, graduating from Parkview High School in 1964. She continued her education at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 1969. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Patti was the former owner of the women's store Ms. Neff's in the Northwest Arkansas Mall and a retired realtor with Faucette Real Estate. She was very active in her church, for years spearheading the December Altar Guild decoration of the altar and sanctuary and teaching Sunday School. She was an elementary school home room mother for twelve years, and she continued her active school involvement during her children's junior high and senior high school years. She was a member of Junior Civic League, the Pi Beta Phi advisory board, and Chapter K of PEO.

Patti is survived by her husband of 45 years, Peter G. Estes, Jr. , one daughter Amy Estes Turner, one son Peter G. "Tripp" Estes, and his wife Brandy, as well as three grandchildren--Abigail Elizabeth Estes, Hannah Kathryn Estes, and Alexander Estes Turner. Other surviving family include her aunt Bobbi Springer, her brother Philip Pettit, his wife Alison, and their children; and her sister- and brother-in-law Janet and Roy Brown and their family.

Throughout her life, Patti excelled at entertaining, gardening, and cooking. She enjoyed reading and travel. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and she enriched the lives of everyone who knew her.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday December 16, 2014 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 224 N. East Street, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal, Box 1190, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72702 or to the Washington Regional Medical Center Hospice program, P.O. Box 356, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72702.
