Qualls, Oklahoma
Bill George Sellers passed from this life at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville on July 29, 2014, at the age of 76. He had a short-term battle with pancreatic cancer.
Bill was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Qualls, Okla., to George and Georgia Sellers. Bill is predeceased by his father, George Sellers.
Bill was a farmer, cattle rancher and owner of Sellers Equipment. He served for 11 years in the National Guard. He enjoyed hunting trips with his buddies and fishing with his grandson, Michael, the light of his life. Bill relished telling stories about all his adventures.
His lifelong dream was to visit the Holy Lands in Israel, which he was able to do with Ruth in March. They loved traveling the world together. This led them to sponsoring international students that have become family. Gospel music was his favorite, and he sang in the church choir and a quartet. He will be remembered as a strong Christian man, father figure and mentor to many.
Left to cherish Bill's memory are his wife of 55 years, Ruth Sellers; a son, Mike Sellers and his wife, Bree Shipp-Sellers; a daughter, Michelle Sellers-DeCanio; grandchildren, Marekah Fagan, Marinda Springston and Michael Sellers; great-grandchildren, Colin Fagan and Aubrey Fagan; five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; his mother, Georgia Sellers; a sister, Mary Ellyn Fitzhugh; two brothers, Leroy Sellers and his wife, Pat, and Wayne Sellers and his wife, Jean Anna; and a host of loving, supportive friends.
The visitation will be Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Farmington, with Pastor Billy Coffman and the Rev. Bob Fant officiating. Private interment to follow at Farmington Cemetery.
