Randy Burris
On Monday, January 25, 2021, Larry Randall Burris, known as Randy to friends and Poppy to grandchildren and family , passed away after 77 years of a passionate life.
Randy was born on June 21, 1943 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. On June 10th of 1962, he married the love of his life, Mary Florence Brock. The two have been inseparable for 58 years and a half years. They are a couple full of love for Jesus and a heart to serve others. Together they sacrificed much for the good of others. They were known for their constant joy and consistent faith in Jesus Christ.
Randy was attending New Sulphur Free Will Baptist Church when he became a Christian on March 7, 1974. It was at this church that he became active in ministry and eventually answered the call to preach in 1983. Randy spent 37 years preaching the word of God, during which he served as pastor at numerous churches in the Northwest Arkansas area. Prior to his death he was still preaching the word of the Lord.
Randy was known for his joking spirit and southern charm. You would always find him in his cowboy hat and boots. He loved to hunt and had even earned the triple trophy award multiple times. He made his own deer jerky which was treasured by all and he claimed every pot of chili was his best pot he ever made.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy Mitchell and LaRama (Winn) Burris and his sister Norma Lee Burris. He is survived by his wife Mary Burris, one son Kevin Burris, two daughters Kristina Andrews and her husband Stan, and Karla Thompson and her husband Tim, nine grandchildren Bethany Pinkley, Brooke Ledbetter, Tanner Andrews, Mary Beth Andrews, Gracie Claire Andrews, Pearson Andrews, Robert Lewis, Katie Thompson and Jett Thompson, and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held 4:30 PM Friday, January 29th, 2021, at Unity Covenant Church in West Fork, Arkansas, viewing will be from 3:30 - 4:30 prior to the service. Burial will be in the West Fork Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held.
