Notes

COLLIER, J.Q. - {from The Fayetteville Democrat} J.Q. Collier died at

3 a.m. Sunday at the residence of G.W. Morrow in this city. The remains

were taken to Prairie Grove for interment. Mr. Collier was serving on the

regular panel of the petit jury at the present term of court and was excused

Thursday on account of illness which developed into meningitis in its worst

form. After three days of intense suffering he passed to the great beyond.

Mr. Collier was in the mercantile business at Hubbard and was well known

throughout the county. He was a candidate for County Assessor at the last

election and came within a few votes of receiving the nomination. He was

about 50 years of age and was a consistent member of the C.P. Church. So

far as we have ever heard had no enemies but was universally regarded as

an exemplary Christian gentleman and a most worthy and useful citizen.

We extend heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family. [The Springdale News
