81 a resident of Highland Community, Arkansas passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at Prairie Grove Health and Rehab in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He was born February 7, 1930 in Frog, Arkansas, the son of William Thomas and Alice Barker Shepherd.
Elbert was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired construction worker, he loved horseback riding and nature. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Mae Stewart Shepherd; one daughter, Lee Arlene Stilwell of Fayetteville, Arkansas; two sons, John Wendell Shepherd of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Thomas Randall Shepherd of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; two brothers, Guy Shepherd of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Paul Shepherd of Farmington, Arkansas; two sisters, Pauline Hodge of Altus, Oklahoma and Dollie McCullough of Springdale, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Jason Stilwell, Kimberlee Stilwell Oxford, Jennifer Shepherd Barrick, Robert Shepherd, Adam Shepherd and Logan Shepherd; five great grandchildren, Benton White, Zachary Stilwell, Addyson Oxford, Evan Shepherd, and Liam Barrick.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2011 - 10:00 A.M. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Interment will be in the Bidville Cemetery near Mountainburg, Arkansas, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jason Stilwell, Jeremy Oxford, James Barrick, Robert Shepherd, Adam Shepherd, and Logan Shepherd.
