Tennessee
Louis Collins was married to Mary Sally Pogue about 1822 in Tennesse and to this union 5 children were born; Coriel, Joseph, Angeline, Francis and Andrew. Sometime between 1828 and 1833, the family traveled by covered wagon with Sally's sister, Elizabeth, to Washington County, Arkansas and settled on a mountain later known as Beaty, six miles north of Lincoln. He second married Sarah Hembree and to this union 3 children were born; Perneta, Isabella and Mary. Louis was one of the original members of the Mount Carmel Methodist Church and also donated land for the Gem Schoolhouse.
