GREGORY, William James - Birthday Celebrated (For the Herald) Tuesday morning, November 14th, twenty-six relatives and friends of Uncle Bill Gregory and wife gathered at their home near New Sulphur to celebrate Uncle Bill’s eighty-eighth birthday.
The morning was spent in pleasant conversation and listening to Uncle Bill’s narratives of long ago. Naturally his body is a little frail, but his mind is as clear as a boys.
At 12:30 we were all invited into the dining room where a table was covered with everything the human stomach could crave. Uncle Bill was seated at one end of the table and his good wife at the other. After thus being satisfied, the afternoon was spent in merry making and music until about 4 o’clock, when we departed for our own homes, wishing Uncle Bill many more birthdays. - A Friend [Prairie Grove Herald 11/16/1922]
