Claud Cooper

Claud Cooper, 88, of Gravette, died Monday, March 18, at Gravette Medical Center.

Born Oct. 11, 1902, at Delaney to William Cooper and Gillian Smith Cooper, he bought and sold railroad posts for Koppers Co. Inc. A lifelong Gravette resident, he was a member of the Methodist Church there.

Survivors are his wife, Doris Cooper; a daughter, Imogene Lasater of Pea Ridge; a son, Keith Cooper of Fayetteville; five grandchildren: and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral is set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Gravette, with the Rev. Dee Smith officiating. Burial is to be in Pea Ridge Cemetery, under direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge. Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. today at the Gravette funeral home.

Doris Cooper

Doris Skelton Cooper, 85, of Gravette, died Sunday, at Gravette Manor Nursing Home.

She was born August 25, 1907, in Hazel Valley, Ark., to James Skelton and Myrtle Shakelford Skelton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gravette United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Cooper, in 1991, one brother and one sister.

Survivors are one son, Keith Cooper of Fayetteville; one daughter, Imogene Lasater of Pea Ridge; two brothers, Harold Skelton of Springfield, Mo., and James Skelton of Siloam Springs; four sisters, Nola Davidson of Bethany, Okla., Bernice Dean of Van Buren, Hazel Boozeman of Fort Smith and Norma Gabbard of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral is Thursday, 10 a.m., at Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel in Gravette with the Rev. Charles Wiggins officiating. Burial is in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
