Eldon Swift
79, a resident of Farmington, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord, May 10, 2007 at his home in Farmington. He was born March 30, 1928 at Farmington, Arkansas, the son of Franklin Raymond And Margaret Elizabeth Couch Swift.
He was a member of the Farmington Church of Christ. Eldon served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He drove a gas truck for the Farmers Coop and later worked for the D.H. Baldwin Company for over 30 years. Eldon owned and operated the Swift?s Car Wash in Farmington for more than 22 years and also operated an electronic sales and repair service from his home for many years. He served on the Farmington City Council and was active on the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department.
Eldon was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Raymond Swift along with one sister Beulah Beaver.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jean Swift of the home; one son, Terry Swift and wife Beverly of Rogers, Arkansas; one brother, Hayden Swift of Santa Rosa, California; one grand daughter, Melissa Doss of Coal Hill, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Kaytlyne, Kolby and Kaden Doss all of Coal Hill, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 13, 2007 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. with the family being present from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
Funeral Service will be Monday, May 14, 2007 - 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Farmington, Arkansas with Larry Krudwig officiating. Burial will be in the Farmington cemetery at Farmington, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Foster, Bill Bequette, Wayne Carter, Brad Broyles, Keith McNeely, Chris Hester, Mark Cunningham, Marion Bailey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy D. Layman and Eddie McClelland.
