Mearl Cooksey
83, of Fayetteville, died Friday, May 6, 2011 at Fayetteville. He was born August 14, 1927 at Strickler, Arkansas, the son of William Edward and Orpha Waterson Cooksey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Cooksey; a son, Eddie Cooksey and his parents.
He was a retired construction foreman for Ozarks Electric and farmer. He was a U. S. Army veteran and an avid hunter. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by, a daughter, Alice Harvey & her husband Keith of Fayetteville; two sons, Roger Cooksey & his wife Anita of Fayetteville and William Cooksey & his wife Linda of Fayetteville; a brother, James Cooksey of Strickler; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10 at Moore’s Chapel and interment will be in Bugscuffle Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday at Moore’s Chapel.
