Anne Harris LaRew
87, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away March 5, 2008 at the Regency Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born September 1, 1920 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of James Padon and Dorothea Campbell Harris.
Anne was a long time resident of Prairie Grove. She held a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. After teaching a year in Fairview High School in Camden, Arkansas, she moved to Shreveport where she worked for United Gas Corp. From January 1944 to May 1949, she was employed by the U.S. Navy Department at Headquarters, 15th Naval District, Balboa, Canal Zone. Upon her return to the States she moved to Midland, Texas, where she was employed by Bethlehem Supply Company. After the death of her husband, Wesley Alex LaRew, she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she worked for Exploration Drilling Company, which became Robert W. Berry Inc. of which she was Vice President. She retired after forty years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church-(Disciples of Christ) in Fayetteville, the United Daughter?s of the Confederacy, The Daughters of the American Revolution, The Prairie Grove Women?s Study Club, the Prairie Grove Battlefield Park Auxiliary, the University of Arkansas Alumni Association, the University Club, Washington County Womens and Senior Democrats and the American Association of University Women. Anne was an avid fan of all Arkansas Razorback sports. She supported many environmental, animal and human rights causes.
She was preceded in death by her sister Phoebe Todd Harris.
Anne is survived by many dear cousins, a multitude of friends, and faithful helpers, Mike and Hilde Wolfe.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 1:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas with Ryan Pfeiffer officiating.
