Jason Lowell Griffin was born April 28, 1956, in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Joseph Henry Griffin and Carolyn (Howland) Griffin. He passed away January 20, 2011 at his home in Evansville, Arkansas at the age of 54 years, 8 months and 22 days.
Jason was married to Kathy Swafford and their union was blessed with a son, Jeffrey and a daughter, Teresa. Jason was a carpenter by trade. He was a founding member of the Evansville Fire Department and retired after 20 years of faithful service.
He accepted the Lord and was baptized at Elm Grove Baptist Church where he was currently a member. Jason enjoyed fishing, hunting, searching for wild mushrooms, farming cattle, spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his dogs and took special care of them. Everybody knew him and he had a unique way of putting a smile on anyone’s face.
His father, J.H. Griffin and one nephew, Michael Seward, preceded him in death. His surviving family includes his wife, Kathy Griffin, of the home in Evansville, AR; his mother, Carolyn Griffin, of Evansville; son, Jeffrey Griffin, of Evansville, AR; daughter, Teresa Walters and husband, Michael, of Stilwell; two brothers, Henry Griffin, of Georgia and Thorn Griffin, of Stilwell; two sisters, Cindy Seward, of Dutch Mills, AR and Jan Wilhite, of Stilwell and five grandchildren, Mikah, Hayden, Kyler, Brooke and Michael-Jasyn.
Services well be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Eugene Kester and Bro. Larry Swafford officiating. Interment will follow at Academy Cemetery in Evansville under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
