Ivan Arthur Mcfarland

91, a resident of Wedington/Savoy, Arkansas, passed away August 16, 2009 at his home in Wedington/Savoy area. He was born October 21, 1917 in Lebanon, Kansas, the son of Loyd and Emma Goldsworth McFarland.

He attended the White Rock Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Ivan served as a medic in the United States Army during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva McFarland in 2006, one daughter, Emma Jean Edgin, one sister, Ardyce Jost and one grandson, Terry Dean Edgin.

Survivors include one son Denny Edgin and wife Clarice of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, one daughter, Tawana Hillian and husband Larry of Fayetteville, Arkansas, three brothers, Grady McFarland of Denver, Colorado, Kermit McFarland and Aubrey McFarland both of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Mildred Barnard of Virginia; four grandsons, Mike Hillian, Rodney Edgin, Randy Edgin, and Robert Hillian, ten great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 20, 2009 - 2:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas with burial in Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Hillian, Rodney Edgin, Randy Edgin, Robert Hillian, Michael Hillian, Elissa Hillian, Allison Hillian, Chris Hillian.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Barry Hillian, Kristal Watkins, Nichole Edgin, Tyler Edgin and Grant Edgin, Haley Hillian.
