Omer Dean Dobbs

Omer Dean Dobbs, 78, of Salina, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at his home. He was born on September 22, 1936 in Odell, Arkansas, the son of John Herbert Dobbs and Jewell A. (Rose) Dobbs. He faithfully served his Country in the United States Air Force. Omer owned an Aircraft Tooling Company. He married Geraldine Welch on September 24, 1960 in Stillwell, Oklahoma. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting. Omer enjoyed playing volleyball. He especially enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. Omer was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who leaves many wonderful memories for all to cherish.

No formal services are planned. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service. The family would also like to thank Dr. Nodine and Serenity Hospice for their excellent care and compassion during this time. Omer’s final resting place will be in the Dobbs Cemetery on Dobbs Mountain.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Dobbs of the home; his daughters, Tena L. Meredith and husband, Ernie of Claremore, Gena Thompson and husband, Jim Bob of Sulpher Springs, AR; Dena L. Dobbs of Pryor, OK; his brother, Otis Clinton Dobbs of Grove, OK; his sister, Ruby Marshall of Bentonville, AR; five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jewell Dobbs, one grandson; two brothers and three sisters.
