Ablemarle, Sussex Co, VA
Balaam is found on the 1817 Christian Co, KY, tax list in the section that was Cerulean and in 1820 became a part of Trigg Co. That makes his appearance in Trigg Co about 10 years earlier than had been thought.
Mr Wm M Turner, historian of the University of Ky, told me that his family had been the founders of the church in 1800.
Balaam's third wife was Jane Stowe, widow of John Stowe of Trigg Co, KY, and grandmother of Jane Guthrie who married John Sizemore, the brother of George Sizemore. John Stowe left all his land etc to his wife Jane, and at her death was to be left to his son-in-law Vincent Guthrie.
The day Balaam and Jane were married there is a deed recorded--Jane Stowe land etc left to Vincent Guthrie for love and affection.
It is the feeling of the family it was not so much for love and affection as that Vincent did not want Balaam to get possession of the land!! Probably the family was not too pleased that Jane was marrying him.

Some children listed under wife Lydia may actually be Elizabeth's.
