Nova Garrett Brewer
passed away August 11, 2011 at Crestwood Care Center in Ogden.
She was born November 22, 1919 in Erbie, Arkansas to Alexander Keen Garrett and Cora Hickman Garrett.
Nova married her childhood sweetheart Lovick (Bill) Roderick Brewer on March 18, 1942 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Bill preceded her in death on April 18, 2007.
Nova was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and in 1969 was voted Business Woman of the Year.
She was a member of the Easter Star Chapter in Prairie Grove, Arkansas for 51 years. She was also a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church.
Nova retired from Z.C.M.I. where she enjoyed selling China and sterling silver for 15 years.
With her husband Bill being in the military, she resided throughout the United States and Europe. After his retirement, they traveled to China, Japan, Germany, England, Italy, South Korea, and her favorite place, Hawaii which they vacationed often.
She is survived by her two children Pat (Bob) Hopkins of Ogden, and Lindsey (Ann) Brewer of Las Vegas. She is also survived by two grandchildren Stephanie Arnold, (Terry) of Ogden, Corey (Nancy) Hopkins of Plain City, three great-grandchildren, Matt Arnold, of Beaverton, Oregon, Piper Merrigan (John), of Jefferson, Oregon, Bailey Arnold, of Ogden, Utah, and her brother Hank Garrett of Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Dencie, Nolan, Jay and sisters: Inis Clayton, and Dovie Ruester.
Our family would like to thank all the nurses and CNA’s, especially Kim at Crestwood Care Center for their excellent care. They are truly angels.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 - 11:00 A.M. at the Farmington Cemetery Pavilion in Farmington, Arkansas.
