Blanche McCarty, 81, of Springdale, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in Springdale. She was born August 16, 1927 in Strickler, Arkansas, the daughter of Omer and Lillian (Sharp) Keck. She attended the Fall Creek School in Prairie Grove, AR, and the Fayetteville Nursing School of Training, after school she became a Licensed Practical Nurse in which she retired in her later years, a member of the White Rock Light Of Faith Church and the VFW Ladies Post 2952 Auxiliary for forty years in which she was past president, she also enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Eual McCarty of the home, one daughter; Linda and husband Jim Mayes of Springdale, AR., two grandchildren; Kelli Winn and husband William of Springdale, AR., James Mayes of Springdale, AR., three great grandchildren; Benjamin, Zachary and Mary Kate Winn, three sisters; Myrlene West and husband Verl of Lincoln, AR., Geraldine McDonald and husband Wayne of Lincoln, AR., and Carol Adair and husband Barker of Fayetteville, AR.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the White Rock Light of Faith Church in Fayetteville, with Rev. H.M. Shipp officiating. Burial will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery; Pallbearers will be Rick West, Kent West, Dennis McDonald, Jeff Pense, Brad Phillips and Kevin Phillips. Honorary Pallbearers are Jamie and Joe McCarty.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM, January 30, 2009, in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
