Notes

Marcus Warren Dorman made his last and most ornery and irreverent salute on August 16, 2021, signing off on life, in a typical fashion on his own time without opportunity for a barrage of questions to follow. God broke the mold when Marcus was born to late Herbert E. Dorman JR. and Nila Ann Dorman on March 5, 1970 in Fayetteville, AR. Being born the youngest of three was a dubious roll Marcus fulfilled with tact and poise followed by mischief with toy army men, trucks, tanks and motorcycles in tow. His mother and siblings were no stranger to his charming personality that sustained through the challenging time of his father’s passing in 1985 which further fostered his love for all things mechanical. Marcus started his long and illustrious career in the United States Army shortly after in 1988. During the 33 years of dedicated service to his nation, Marcus conquered innumerable goals and milestones. The first was a three-year service in Germany where he would witness the carnage of the Berlin wall which kindled his passion for history and liberation of peoples freedom. Marcus also spent time as a combat veteran serving his nation again in the Iraqi War Campaign for the freedom of the Iraqi people. His service did not go unnoticed as Marcus was recognized for his valiant efforts receiving the following awards: Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal x2, Army Commendation Medal x5, Army Achievement Medal x9, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal and countless others. Of all the military honors Marcus achieved during his career, his biggest accomplishment of all was being a father to his two daughters. Not a moment passed that Marcus was not wildly proud of every feat in Shae and Syncie’s lives. From the latest pet fish to later beloved furry friends, leotards, brass instruments, painted nails, road trips, defeated spirits, scholarly and professional victories, to nick naming the poor soul that dated his daughter. Every moment was attentively and discreetly planned to enrich every moral fiber of their lives. Marcus will be interred next to his father on Saturday, August 21, in Farmington Cemetery, with full military honor.
