Essie Glenn Lewis, of Farmington was at home surrounded by her family when her Lord and Saviour carried her home peacefully April 1, 2010, at 6:13 pm.
She was born October 4th 1909 at Asher, Arkansas to John and Mary McConnell Glenn.
She was a homemaker when she was younger. She liked working with her flowers and vegetable garden. Essie was an amazing lady and true blessing who touched many lives during her 100 years on earth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claud “Dickie” Lewis, who passed away March 31st, 1972; one son, Jerald Lewis; one grandson, James Ray Lewis; six brothers, Elmer Glenn, Avery Glenn, Lawrence Glenn all of Farmington, Walter Glenn of Prairie Grove, Austin Glenn of Fayetteville and Paul Glenn of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Hazel Glenn Clayton of Farmington and Reba Glenn Gilmer of Clifty.
Survivors include: one daughter Mary Ruth “Susie” Lewis Stewart and husband Danny Stewart of the home; four grandchildren, Randall Lewis and wife Barbara of Fayetteville, Ricky Lewis and Karen of Farmington; Misty Stewart Morrow and Tyler of Prairie Grove; Dustin Stewart and Stacye of Farmington; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 3rd from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, April 5th at 10:00 am at Moore’s Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Preston Beeks.
