James L "Red" Sturdy, 88, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born March 25, 1928 in Zearing, Iowa, the son of James Elbert and Martha Ann (Nichols) Sturdy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Geraldine "Jerry" Sturdy and second wife Mary Louise Sturdy; one grandson Anthony Ray Carlton; two brothers, Charles and Robert Sturdy.
Survivors include one son, Brit Sturdy and wife Debbie of Fort Worth Texas; three daughters, LaRita Carlton and husband Richard of Vian, Oklahoma, Joni Sparks and husband Tom of Evansville, Arkansas and Jamie Reed and husband Paul Don of Morrow, Arkansas; one brother, Bill Sturdy and wife Quinta of Coalgate, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Matt Seplak, Spencer Seplak, Dana Utley, Bart Michael Sturdy, Sonia Taylor, Justin Sparks, Carrie Reed, Donald Reed, and Terri Hayes; twenty-two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial will be in the Summers Cemetery. No graveside services will be held at the cemetery.
