Jim Edward Winkler, age 73, passed from this life March 11, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice after a short illness.
Jim was born July 23, 1943 at Morrow, Arkansas. He was the son of Bert (BJ) and Bessie Griffin Winkler. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Homer Winkler of Farmington, Arkansas, Bobby Winkler of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Paul Winkler of Yukon, Oklahoma, and one sister, Azalee Bredrick, Van Buren, Arkansas.
Jim is survived by two daughters, Julie McGill of Texas and Michelle Winkler of Colorado, three brothers, Hugh Winker of Summers, Arkansas, Willis Winkler of Lincoln, Arkansas, and Floyd Winkler of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
Jim attended school at Morrow, Arkansas. He worked for Huffaker TV Service in Lincoln, Arkansas before joining the United States Air Force, where he worked in accounting.
Jim attended Amarillo Junior College and received an Associate Degree in Computer Science. Later he attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, now known as Texas A & M, where he received a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Business in 1973.
After graduation Jim worked for many nationally known companies until he retired and moved back to Arkansas.
Jim enjoyed photography, camping in the mountains of Colorado and bicycling. He would ride miles every day until his health declined.
Burial was at Antioch Cemetery. There will be a memorial service to honor the life of Jim on Monday, March 20, 2017, 6pm, at The Sanctuary of Lincoln, 310 Lincoln Avenue, Lincoln, Arkansas.
