Charles Bentley, 84, of Cedarville, gained his wings Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born September 27, 1933 in Cedarville to the late Alfred and Violet Bentley. He was a retired truck driver. Charles was a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Charles loved working on race cars as well as driving them. Crawford County Speedway was his home away from home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; a son, Eddie Ray; siblings; and two sons-in-law.
He is survived by four daughters, Betty Ulm and husband Todd of Fayetteville, Nonnie Brown and husband Billy of Van Buren, Susan Hanson of Van Buren, and Joyce Lovell and husband Randy of Hackett; six sons, Wayne Bentley of Cedarville, Runt Bentley and wife Betty of Cedarville, Eugene Bentley of the home, Clifford Bentley and wife Shannon of Cedarville, and Chris Fashing and Dana Fashing both of Fort Smith; a sister, Ruby Crabtree of Cedarville; four brothers, Melvin Bentley of Siloam Springs, George Bentley of Fayetteville, Bill Bentley of Moffett, and Wesley Beauchamp of Concord, OK; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with a committal service at 3:30 p.m. at 86 Cemetery near Strickler, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Steven Stills, Jason Roach, Mikey Allen, William Brown, Charles Bentley, and family friend, Terry Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and family friends.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
