Samuel Francis Taylor
Age 96, a resident of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born August 13, 1927 in Cane Hill, Arkansas, the son of Thomas Edward and Lucy Vera (King) Taylor.
Francis graduated from Cane Hill School in 1945 and later attended GM Automotive School in Flint, Michigan. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He served on the Lincoln School Board, volunteer fire department board, and numerous other committees for his community. He was an avid Razorback fan and most importantly Lady Back Basketball fan. He loved his family and was very proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Allena Taylor, brother James Taylor, sister Valera Taylor, nephew Scott Taylor, and great grandsons Hudson Yancey and Jasper Frick.
Survivors include his daughter Lisa Pohlsander and husband Steve of Farmington, Arkansas; son Darrin Taylor and wife Andrea of Lincoln, Arkansas; very special niece Cheryl Netherton and husband Jack of Jay, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren Alicia Dobbs and husband Joey of Prairie Grove, Stephanie Lee-Welsh and husband Jesse of Port Orchard, Washington, Brooke Frick and husband Cole of Springdale, Samantha Taylor of Lincoln, Mitchell Yancey and wife Jaci of Westville, Oklahoma, Lane Pohlsander and wife Katie of Warner, Oklahoma, Valorie Hardman and husband Dustin of Delevan, New York, Sarah Pohlsander of Hilo, Hawaii, Rebecca Charles and husband Ryan of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Alycia Schrader and husband Kyle of Lenexa, Kansas, and Brianna Ovalles and husband Esteban of Kansas City, Kansas; twenty-two great grandchildren Bailey Dobbs, Lucy and Bexleigh Yancey, Aaden, Olivia, and Allison Lee-Welsh, Clansy and Chase Frick, Garren Hardman, Cache and Haven Pohlsander, Jassmine, Romeo, and Anis Pohlsander, Gunner, Colton and Levi Shrader, Grayson, Raena, Lorelai and Robbie Charles, and Eslyn Ovalles; one nephew Mark Taylor of Bradenton, Florida.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 - 10:00 A.M. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas, there will be no graveside services held.
Pallbearers will be Mitchell Yancey, Steve Pohlsander, Joey Dobbs, Jack Netherton, Cole Frick, and Darrin Taylor.
