Orval Secrist, 88, of Coweta, died July 16, 2005, at Coweta Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1916 in Strickler, to Ed and Ester Danner Secrist. He received his education at the Horace Mann School in Tulsa, Okla.
He worked for Lee C. Moore for 40 years and retired in 1982 as a foreman. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, baseball and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel of the home, to whom he was married Dec. 24, 1937; three sons, Earl Secrist and wife Dolores of Tulsa, Jim Secrist, Edward Secrist and wife Judy, all of Moore, Okla.; two brothers, Paul Secrist of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Vernon Secrist of Washington County; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shahan Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Walker officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at 86 Cemetery in Strickler. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home of Coweta, Okla.
