Juanita T. McClellan, 96, of Cane Hill, Arkansas died Monday, July 15, 2019. She was born December 7, 1922 in Marshall, Arkansas, the daughter of Homer Treat and Eula Treece Treat.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Getty McClellan, her son John Harrison McClellan, her granddaughter Shannon LeAnne Kisner, her brother Willard Treat, and her beloved friend of many years Dr. J.Q. (Quent) Lynd.
She was a graduate of Fayetteville High School & Fayetteville Business College. She was a housewife & mother. She was employed by the Tom Pearson Law firm, University of Arkansas Seed Lab, and Farm Bureau Insurance Company. She was a bookkeeper for Abshier Chick Service, and a business owner with an accounting office & shoe store in Lincoln, AR. She was an employee of the Washington County Assessors office & she worked in the offices of Dr. Jeff Baggett & Dr. T.K. Tucker in Prarie Grove, AR. She worked for Washington Regional Hospital until the death of her son in 1973, when she quit work to run the family meat processing business for a year. She then was employed by the Fayetteville Lumber Company, followed by employment with Dr. Johnny Adkins in Prarie Grove, AR., and then in Washington Regional Medical Center.
She was a member of the Cane Hill Presbyterian Church, where she served on the session and she taught a Sunday School class for several years. She was a member of Washington County Medical Assistants and the Washington County Democratic Women. However, for the last 48 years her passion was her farm where she raised & sold beef cattle.
She is survived by her daughter Jeannie Kisner, her granddaughter Brandee Lane & husband Mickey, her grandson Darren Kisner & wife Shonna, her granddaughter Krystle Leyva & husband Tony, numerous great grandchildren, her brother Marvin Treat & wife Doris, her niece Joy Marshall & husband Larry, her niece Linda Treat, her nephew Martin Treat, & her nephew Michael Treat & wife Farla, and honorary family member Lee, Brad and Macey Jones.
