Jim Jay

Jim W. Jay, 64, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, in a local hospital. He was the owner of Jay Oil Co., a coach in the public school systems; he was in the quarter horse business, and a member of Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cavanaugh Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Jennifer Jay and Cynthia Johnson, both of Fort Smith; four sons, Jerry, Bobby, Ronnie and Jim Jay, all of Fort Smith; his stepmother, Carolyn Jay of Lincoln; a sister, Pauline Irwin of Lincoln; and 10 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Young, Paul Walker, Ollie Garner, Gary Means, Pat Martin, Johnny Mason, Eddie Coleman and Paul Goldsmith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Flite-Line OBX traveling softball team.
