KRUM - Philo A. Luginbyhl, 80, a retired Bell Helicopter experimental department employee, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Kern Manor in Pilot Point.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at DeBerry Funeral Chapel. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Visitation: 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials: First Baptist Church of Krum.
He married Jo Ann Farmer Feb. 15, 1962, in Gainesville.
Survivors: Wife, Jo Ann Luginbyhl of Krum; daughters, Beverly Luginbyhl of Denton, Kathy and husband, Teddy Dietz of Sanger, Debra and husband, Lonnie Gibbs of Arkansas; brothers, Roland Luginbyhl of Sanger, Waymond Luginbyhl of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Philo A. Luginbyhl, 80, of Krum, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Kern Manor, Pilot Point. He was born Feb. 15, 1922, to Philo A. and Vira Simpson Luginbyhl in Sanger.
Philo?s grandparents homestead 180 acres between Krum and Sanger in mid-1850, which is now called Luginbyhl Road. It was named after the oldest settlers in that area. Philo Sr. and Philo Jr. were both born on the homestead.
Philo was a member if the First Baptist Church of Krum.
He married Jo Ann Farmer on Feb. 15, 1962, in Gainesville. He was retired from the Experimental Department at Bell Helicopter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at DeBerry Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ed Gatlin will officiate. Burial will be at the Roselawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Krum.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Luginbyhl of Krum; daughters, Kathy and husband Teddy Dietz of Sanger, Debra and husband Lonnie Gibbs of Arkansas, Beverly Luginbyhl of Denton; brothers, Roland Luginbyhl of Sanger, Waymond Luginbyhl of Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie on March 28, 1961, and Randy on July 14, 1983; and a daughter, Shirley Luginbyhl in 2001.
The pallbearers will be Nicky and Myron Borth, Dale Stone, Howard Askew, Bob Brown and Jeff Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Terry, Jimmy Runnels, Jan Farris and John Smith.
DeBerry Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
