Ruth Ann West Obituary
The world lost a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Ruth Ann West was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on November 10, 1944. She passed away on July 27, 2022, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was 77 years old.
Ruth Ann was the wife of William “Bill” West who preceded her in death in January 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Jim and Junior Keen, and one sister Mary Adams.
She was the mother to four surviving children. Her two sons are Dr. Timothy West (Lucinda) of Conroe, Texas and Richard West of Lincoln, Arkansas. Her daughters are Deidre (Gerald) Perkins of Lincoln, Arkansas and Deborah West of Summers, Arkansas. Ruth Ann leaves behind a brother Ronnie Keen of Stilwell, Oklahoma and a sister Jean Hunter of Burleson, Texas. Through her life she enjoyed 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She was married to the love of her life, Bill, on November 22, 1963. Until Bill’s death, they lived in Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. While she was a homemaker for most her life, she owned her own restaurant for a season, where she proudly enjoyed serving her community. She also supplemented her retirement income working at the Sonic Drive-In in Westville with “those young kids” and at Peachtree Village. She was a generous woman, often giving her last dime to help someone she loved. She was the sun around which the West family universe revolved, and she will be deeply missed. Ruth Ann’s greatest love was her family, and all her children were honored to call her mom.
Final goodbyes and celebration of life will be held at Peachtree Village on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. It is located at 55 W Rainsong St., Farmington, AR 72730. The internment of Ruth’s ashes will be held at Lincoln Cemetery following the Memorial Service. The address for the cemetery is N West Avenue, Lincoln, Arkansas, 72744.
