Lynn Loess Smith, age 83, passed away at Springhouse Village Assisted Living Center on Sunday, August 23rd, 2020. The cause of death was a sudden cardiac event.
Born on December 7th, 1937 in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Loess. She was the youngest of 3 children. After she moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, she held several jobs. She served as a nurse at the Eureka Springs Clinic, sold tickets at Pine Mountain Jamboree, worked as a waitress at the Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center, performed as a cast member of the Great Passion Play, and worked as a bookkeeper at The Anglican Digest at Hillspeak.
She also found time to volunteer at Echo Medical Center. She was an active member of The First Christian Church of Eureka Springs.
She is survived by her husband Ken Smith and her sister Lenore Nagle of Urbana, Illinois. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law Scott and Mitzi Bingaman of Tontitown, Arkansas, daughter and son-in-law Amy and Troy Robinson of Overland Park, Kansas, daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Ron Spellman of Springfield, Missouri, daughter Lori Bingaman of Harrison, Arkansas, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Henry “Hank†Loess. Visitation will be held at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Wednesday through Friday 8AM-4:30PM. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at First Christian Church of Eureka Springs at a future date in September.
