Alfred Eldon Beaty

76 a resident of Arlington, Virginia, passed away of heart failure, Sunday, March 25, 2007 at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. He was born August 22, 1930 at Lincoln, Arkansas, the son of Travis and Marie Maxwell Beaty.

Alfred was a native of Lincoln, Arkansas. He was a Korean War Veteran. Mr. Beaty moved to the Washington DC area after graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1957 with Bachelors degrees in both Journalism and Political Science.

Alfred began his career path as a freelance journalist for The Washington Herald and the soul proprietor of the Lincoln Stamp Company. He then moved on to work for the US Department of Agriculture in Soil Conservation. He spent the rest of his career with the US Forest Service as an Information Specialist. During his tenure with the Forest Service, Mr. Beaty worked on many projects including film productions, slide presentations, and a photo library. Mr. Beaty was a Mason, a past-president of CINE (a film industry organization), and a member of Toastmasters (a public speaking organization). In addition, Mr. Beaty was an avid Genealogist, and a stamp & coin collector.

Survivors include his wife Jacqueline A. Beaty of Arlington, Virginia; one son James T. Beaty of Manassas, Virginia; one daughter, Tamm A. Thomas of Richmond, Virginia and Retta M. Murabito Moore, of South Carolina; two brother Robert D. (Bob) Beaty of Conway, Arkansas, and William L. Beaty of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Lauren Murabito, Erin Murabito, Travis Beaty.

Services are being planned for late May 2007 in Prairie Grove, Arkansan. Interment will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.
