Obituary

Rosalie Maurine Glidewell

Age 99, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at her home in Lincoln, Arkansas. She was born August 6, 1925 in Goltry, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jacob Tobias and Eva (Unruh) Wedel.

Rosalie was the youngest of seven children. Her and her siblings were raised in a home surrounded by love and laughter – qualities that she carried with her for the rest of her life. Rosalie met her soul mate, Jim, in November 1943, when she was just 19 years old. Three months later, on February 5, 1944, they were married and spent the next 53 years building the most amazing life together. Although they had 53 years together, it wasn’t ever enough. Losing her soulmate nearly 28 years ago, was one of the hardest things she ever had to endure in her life. But through everything, Rosalie remained the foundation of her family. She was a role model and everything we should all stive to be – faithful, strong, independent, hardworking, and incredibly kind and loving. Rosalie was loved by all that knew her, oftentimes called an angel on earth. Which makes sense because she had unwavering faith, and she knew earth wasn’t her home, but rather just a stop on her ultimate destination to her heavenly home. Rosalie was a light that people were drawn too. If you met her once, you knew you were loved, and you wouldn’t forget her. Her children, and many grandchildren, all looked to her for comfort amidst whatever storm they were enduring. They knew they would be greeted with love, sound advice, and never any harsh judgement. Although she will be greatly missed by all that knew her, we know, without a doubt, she is walking the streets of heaven, hand in hand, with the love of her life – together again.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Glidewell; infant son Terry; her parents, six brothers and sisters Roy, Erma, Marvin, Woody, Ruby, and Verbena.

Survivors include her son Warren Glidewell; one daughter Eva Kay Couch; five grandchildren Darrel Hignite, Sherry Tuck, Eric Hignite, Tommy Glidewell, and Tami Mayfield; twenty great grandchildren and nineteen great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
