Jon Wayne Martin

Age 83, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born December 17, 1940 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of John Menan and Ethel (Conner) Martin.

Jon retired from the United States Navy after twenty years of service, serving two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Lincoln Consolidated Schools after twenty-seven years of service. He also served as Deacon at Lincoln First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father John Martin, his mother Ethel Conner Martin Whittenberg.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Janice Sue Martin; one daughter Rhonda Freeman and husband Ken of Lincoln, Arkansas; three sons Jon E Martin and wife Amy of Lincoln, Paul Martin and wife Teresa of Elkins, and Carl Martin and wife Alicia also of Lincoln; two sisters Jerry Ruland of Prairie Grove and Shirley Spears of Cincinnati, Arkansas; nine grandchildren Blake Martin, Kathy Freeman, Dana Robbins, Brittany Martin and husband Camden Stallard, Randy Martin and wife Kirsten, Natalie Castaneda and husband David, Mikayla Martin, Corey Martin and Denise Bates and husband Josh Stair; five great grandchildren Rylie Martin, Nicolas Robbins, Lincoln Stallard, Makynzi Martin and Adilyn Martin; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 - 10:00 A.M. at Lincoln First Baptist Church in Lincoln, Arkansas. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lincoln First Baptist Church building fund P.O. Box 38, Lincoln, Arkansas 72744.
