James Waldon Cartwright

Age 79, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born October 5, 1945 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Virgil Ray and Lillie Ellen (Doss) Cartwright.

James served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death his parents, his wife Linda Cartwright, eight siblings Odie Skelton, Lillian Skelton, Bill Skelton, Jim Williams, Mary Center, Pansy Center, Tommy Center, and David Cartwright.

Survivors include one son James Cartwright Jr. and his wife Christie of Yakima, Washington; two daughters Angela Dutton and Terri Fenwick and husband Thomas all of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; four siblings Violet Pense, Daisy Bruns, Kenneth Centers, and Virginia Bayley Cartwright; six grandchildren Charlene Boggs, Jaushua Kerr, Jonathan Kerr, Cassidy Dutton and wife Tabitha, Mitchell Nations and wife Margaret, Cody Fenwick and wife Mindy; six great grandchildren Lilly, Hudson, Wren, Elizabeth, Andrea, and Bailey; his Godchildren Robin Cashdollar, and Casandra Cashdollar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 8, 2025, 6:00-7:00 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at White Rock Light of Faith Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Baptist Ford Cemetery in Greenland, Arkansas, there will be no graveside service held.

What a Blessing to know and worship with this wonderful man. When he sang his Praises to God with his family, the Holy Ghost showed up. He will be so missed, but he’s living in Joy now. Love to the family.
