ames Michael “Lumpy” Baugh

60 a resident of Farmington, went to be his Lord on February 19, 2014 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born August 8th, 1953 in Prairie Grove, the son of James Dwight “Doc” and Hazel Irene Freeman Baugh.

He was raised on his family farm near Morrow. He attended Lincoln Public Schools. After graduation in 1971 he joined the Arkansas National Guard and was a member for 11 years.

He was saved and baptized at Prairie Oaks Baptist Church and later was a member of Summers Missionary Baptist Church.

He married his wife Denise in 1976. She joined him on the farm. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters Jami and Mila. Together they operated the family dairy farm and also operated the Appletown Restaurant in Lincoln for several years. And if that wasn’t enough you could usually find him driving a truck hauling hay or milk. He was hardworking beyond measure.

In 2000 when his health began to fail they sadly sold the farm and moved to Farmington, but that did not stop his love of farming. He continued to haul milk for the Griscoms, and did hay bailing for many local farmers.

He loved to hunt, riding his Harley, camping and beach vacations with his family. He loved to cook and he LOVED cars!! He bought his first car when he was 9 years old for $50 (money he had saved from bailing hay) while his mom was in crescents store shopping. He had to call his dad to come and drive it home. After retiring he finally got his corvette. He and Denise loved spending time just going for drives and corvette weekends in Eureka Springs. But his greatest love in life was his family. He gave everything he had to be the best husband, dad and Pa. His role as Pa brought him the most joy. He spent everyday of the past nine years devoted to his five grandkids. If you ask anyone of them, they would tell you he is the greatest Pa in the world. His legacy will live on in all the hearts and lives of his family left behind.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents.

Survivors include his wife Denise Baugh; two daughters, Jami Taylor and husband Mike of Stillwell, Oklahoma and Mila Morris and husband Dean of Springdale, Arkansas; one brother Steve “speedy” Baugh; five grandchildren, Parker Morris, Presley Morris, Paige Morris, Dallas Taylor and Anastyn Taylor; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 – 2:00 p.m. at Prairie Oaks Baptist Church in Prairie Grove with burial in Bethesda Cemetery.

Denise, you probably don't remember me but we went to school together. Mike and I grew up in Morrow. My heart saddens to hear of his passing. The good Lord never put a better person on our world. He was always the most kind and gentle person. One of the best men I ever knew. Please know my heart and prayers are with you and your family in this horrible time. The world has lost an angel of a man, but heaven has gained a new one. I'm certain that Mike is preparing for when we will all be together again. I'll look forward to seeing him on the other side. May God bless and comfort you in this time of loss....Don Abshier

I just came from an evening with wonderful family. I can't even tell you the emptiness the family is feeling at the loss of this man! My heart is breaking for Denise, Jami and Mila. Lumpy was their world. He was an amazing man and father and we don't know what tomorrow holds but we are so very thankful for the time we had with him. He left us too soon but he left us better people than we would have been without him. I am proud to be his sister-in-law and so happy my children had such a wonderful uncle in their lives growing up.

Sadden to hear of your loss of 'Lumpy'. I think we're cousins, that's why the the question mark! I probably only met Mike once or twice; but I know my Mom loved and laughed about Lumpy & Speedy often. I think there were some tales about them ans Uncle Bill over the years! So, for her and myself I wish you God's comfort and peace until we meet them again. Carol & Jerre Parks

Mike was a special man. He was always full of life and went out of his way to be friendly to those he incountered. We spent many weekend nights during the warm summer months, mostly riding around the Lincoln square in his black Chevy muscle car. Mike had a kind soul and he will be missed.

Denise and family, we are so sad to lose Lumpy to heaven but are ever so grateful to have known him. We know there will be so much pain and sadness for all for the days to come but joy knowing Lumpy is with our Lord and watching over you. Lumpy (Pa) is still surrounding you all with love, just listen and feel it. He is the sun rising in the morning, he is the wind on your face and he is the joy of the grand kids playing and singing. God bless you all.
