James David Robins

Age 81, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas died on December 17th, 2024. David was born on May 18th, 1943 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to James Lowell and Mollie Faye Andrews Robins.

He was united in marriage to Janis Joy Hawk of Bloomfield, Missouri on October 20th, 1962 in Des Plaines, Illinois. Mrs. Robins survives of the home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

David moved with his parents to Dexter, Missouri, in 1945 from Arkansas and resided there until 1962. He attended all 12 years of school in the Dexter School system and graduated with the class of 1961. In 1962, he joined the U.S. Air Force. In October he and Janis were married and spent the next four years in England and Florida. In November of 1965 their daughter Sherrie Faye was born while they were stationed in Florida. After leaving the Air Force, David and Janis spent the next 32 years living in Maryland and he was employed with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Primarily in the Washington, D.C. area. After the CIA he and Janis moved to Huntsville, Alabama, where David and a friend founded ETG, Inc. which provided support to the CIA and other government agencies. He retired from ETG in 2005 and he and Janis moved to Prairie Grove, Arkansas. There David was active in LIFE Ministries for 13 years, serving as their CEO for 7 of those years. He was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church in Farmington, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife Janis Joy and daughter Sherrie Faye both of the home in Prairie Grove, grandson Chad Michael Robins of Bentonville, Arkansas, a brother Byron Louis of Fairview Heights, Illinois, two sisters, Barbara Ann Billions of Germantown, Tennessee, and Martha Jo Ruiz of Bear, Delaware, and sister-in-law Patricia Robins of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Jackman (Joe), Betty Peterson, and Sharron Whitley (Jerry) of Dexter, Missouri. Additionally he is survived by 14 nieces and 12 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Mollie Robins, brother Bobby Lowell Robins, brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph Ruiz, Wannetta Cave Robins (Byron), Jerry Billions, Shirly Tillmon, Larry Tillmon, Thelbert and Linda Hawk, Delford Hawk, Anna Owens, Jim Hawk, Shirley Estes Hawk and mother and father-in-law Konley and Oma Owens Hawk.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Main Street Baptist Church in Farmington, Arkansas with Pastor Preston Beeks and Pastor Adam Pate officiating.

Graveside service will be held 12:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Tom Louks, Wayne Prince, Will Townsend, Mike Williams, Lynn Graves, and Dan Berry.

Tributes

I will miss him. He was a very friendly, welcoming gentleman. He had a loving wife, Janis. Lloyd and I always enjoyed their friendship.
